  • Serena holds a P.h.D degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology and is a passionate scientist with over 30 years of experience.

  • Her research activities have been devoted to understanding basic cellular mechanisms in plant and human cell biology using also targeted recombinant plant toxins in applied Experimental Oncology, as documented by more than 40 articles published in leading international scientific journals.
  • She led as PI & Coordinator a 5-year collaborative research study “Recombinant Immunotoxin Cooperation Group” (RICG) supported by “Leukaemiabusters”, UK.
  • She authored more than 40 papers in international journals and worked independently for several years in scientific Consultancy as Telethon grant scientific manager, INGM scientific officer at Policlinico Milano, as a medical/scientific writer.
  • She has gained extensive scientific experience managing several hundred national grant applications reviewing for International Funding Agencies (UK, India, Singapore), and writing scientific grant proposals (AIRC, CNR, ERC, EIC).
  • Reviewer for several international biomedical journals and editor for Frontiers “Experimental Pharmacology and Drug Discovery” since 2020.
