Valentino Confalone
Valentino Confalone has gained significant professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry over the years, holding positions of increasing responsibility in several international groups, in Italy and abroad.
Following a degree in Economics from the University Federico II of Naples and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, he began his career in Schering- Plough Spain where he stayed for three years.
Soon after, he joined Bristol Myers Squibb where he held, for more than a decade, various managerial roles most of them in France and Portugal, the latter country in which he became General Manager & President.
In 2015 Confalone moved to Dompé Farmaceutici becoming Head of Europe for Dompé Biotech, a start-up engaged in the development and launch of innovative biotechnological therapies, and then joined Gilead Sciences as Managing Director and General Manager of the Italian subsidiary where he remained until his appointment to Novartis in June 2022.
He is a member of the President's Committee of Farmindustria - where he is also Chairman of the Access and Value strategic group, and of the Steering Committee of EuniPharma, Farmindustria's European-Japanese subgroup.
